Spring Ai Simple Logger Advisor

The Spring Ai Simple Logger Advisor is used to log the request and response of ChatClient, it is very useful for debugging purpose. Logging is an overhead, so make sure to disable Simple Logger Advisor in production environment.

Spring AI supports observability for AI Models and Vector Stores via Zipkin Prometheus and Grafana

It is recommended to add the SimpleLoggerAdvisor at the end of the Adviser chain while creating ChatClient.

import org.springframework.ai.chat.client.ChatClient;

@RestController
public class SpringAiController {
    private final ChatClient chatClient;

    public SpringAiController(ChatClient.Builder chatClient) {
        this.chatClient = chatClient.defaultAdvisors(new SimpleLoggerAdvisor()).build();
    }

    @GetMapping("/hello")
    String hello() {
        String helloPrompt = "Hello, I am learning Ai with Spring";
        return this.chatClient.prompt().user(helloPrompt).call().content();
    }
}
