Spring Boot
Supports communication with the Ollama AI Model
using a ChatClient
interface. ChatClient
supports both synchronized
and streaming API
communication. The ChatClient
creates a Prompt
that contains the instructions for the Ai Model
. The ChatClient
supports majorly 2 types of Prompt messages
, First is User Messages
, which are considered a User Input Message
or User Requests
, and second is System Message
which is the instruction from the System
to the AI Model
to process. let's see it in a Hello Spring Ai with Ollama program
The easiest way to create a ChatClient
is to create a bean and Autowire into the class.
package com.example.springai.controller;
import org.springframework.ai.chat.client.ChatClient;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.GetMapping;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.RestController;
@RestController
public class SpringAiController {
private final ChatClient chatClient;
public SpringAiController(ChatClient.Builder chatClient) {
this.chatClient = chatClient.build();
}
@GetMapping("/hello")
String hello() {
String helloPrompt = "Hello, I am learning Ai with Spring";
return this.chatClient.prompt().user(helloPrompt).call().content();
}
}
package com.example.springai;
import org.springframework.boot.SpringApplication;
import org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.SpringBootApplication;
@SpringBootApplication
public class SpringAiApplication {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(SpringAiApplication.class, args);
}
}
spring.application.name=SpringAi
spring.docker.compose.lifecycle-management=start-only
spring.threads.virtual.enabled=true
docker-compose.yml
