Spring Boot GraphQL Inline Fragments

GraphQL provides Fragmentation to reuse Objects in Query. Fragments are declared outside the query with a name and can be reused, whereas Inline Fragments are anonymous and declared inside the query Operation and cannot be reused.

GraphiQL

GraphQL provides an inbuild UserInterface GraphiQL, which can be accessed via http://localhost:8080/graphiql or access GraphQL via Postmanin the query section add the below query

query FindAllApple {
    findAllApple {
        appleId
        appleName
        taste
        available
        buyFrom {
            vendorId
            vendorName
            vendorAvailable
            location
        }
        sellTo {
            vendorId
            vendorName
            vendorAvailable
            location
        }
    }
}

GraphQL Fragment is declared once and can be used again.

fragment VendrFragment on Vendor {
    vendorId
    vendorName
    vendorAvailable
    location
}
query FindAllApple {
    findAllApple {
        appleId
        appleName
        taste
        available
        buyFrom {
            ...VendrFragment
        }
        sellTo {
            ...VendrFragment
        }
    }
}

For Inline Fragmentation, use the below query

query FindAllApple {
    findAllApple {
        appleId
        appleName
        taste
        available
        buyFrom {
            ... on Vendor {
                vendorId
                vendorName
                vendorAvailable
                location
            }
        }
        sellTo {
            ... on Vendor {
                vendorId
                vendorName
                vendorAvailable
                location
            }
        }
    }
}
